The Slide

Kana complained about her ears hurting this morning so I took her in to see the pediatrician. She had a fever over 104 degrees! They immediately gave her motrin. She told them it was delicious! She's in great spirits and they didn't find anything wrong with her besides the fever so they did some urine and blood tests. She was a champ! No crying at all. She sang her abc's when they inserted the catheter. The nurse said she is the first baby ever to not cry. She asked for stickers when they drew blood. We're so proud of her for being such a big girl! She's been pretty happy and energetic this week so it's bizzare that she wasn't feeling well. She didn't want her milk this morning, for the first time ever. We know something is off if she turns down any food! She's still growing like a weed. Her legs are getting long! She measured 30lbs and 34.5 inches. ;0)
Here are her favorite words and phrases:
kaka (her name)
kiki (her dog)
happy dude
good girl
pool boy (good boy- kiwi)
toots
bup, scuze me
own (mine)
hold! (command)
I ok (after she falls)
tumble
I stuck
mac-mac (shout out to cousin O- I love my mac n cheese, even when mommy adds healthy stuff to it.)
heel, heel, heel, stay, sit (to her stuffed animals & kids at the park)

My 1st Race: Hermosa Beach 5000

I ran my first race today, on the pier in Hermosa Beach, and it was cool. I didn't win but I didn't cry before, during or after the race like some kids. There were even some kids older than me that cried during the race. What a bunch of babies. It was only 25m long! I can't say I really understood what in the world was going on but it seemed fun. Daddy helped me start the race and mommy helped me finish. I even got a cool T-shirt and a medal for finishing. The rest of the slide show are additional photos I thought you, my fans, would like.

Mommy didn't include any of the photos of me being bad this week. I've been driving her bananas all week and Daddy agrees. I'm going through a needy phase where I need to have all of mommy's undivided attention all the time and I must get my way or I won't stop whining. Where does my stubbornness come from? If you see an ad on Craigslist titled "Kid and Dog for Free" with my picture, that was an exceptionally challenging day for mommy. She didn't mean anything by it.....I don't think?

More Easter

So, here's the story of "the famous chocolate egg"...
Mommy spent a great deal of time prepping me for Easter this year. I was hunting eggs over a month in advance. Plastic eggs became my favorite toys. She tested different healthy snacks on me to make sure I would be excited when I opened my special eggs that she prepared. I was a pro at the Easter egg hunt, those other toddlers never had a chance. Daddy held the basket while I sprinted around snatching up as many eggs as I could carry. We took our baskets to the picnic area for lunch, mommy carefully swapped my eggs for the candy-free ones that she had prepared specially for me. But, there was a snag in her master plan when they gathered all the kids for the group picture and I somehow snuck a foil covered chocolate egg. So, parents are taking pictures of the happy group while I am joyfully snacking on this delicious new taste sensation, foil and all... When suddenly, someone jumps in the photo and sticks thier hand down my throat and removes said chocolate! Then we go back to our picnic to open our eggs and I furiouly rip them open, discarding the healthy snacks looking for chocolate. To say I was upset would be an understatement.
So, the next day, at my second Easter egg hunt, I was allowed to taste my own little chocolate egg!

Just a Southern Belle

I'll post more photos later but I really liked this one. I was the best dressed girl at the Easter egg hunt today. Mommy made sure of that. My cousin baby E was here with Aunt Elaine and I was sooooooo excited to see them. Remind me to tell you the story of the chocolate egg that was ripped out of my mouth by someone whose name starts with an "m" and ends with a "y" and in the middle is "omm." That person needs to watch their back. No one takes my chocolate. No one.
