Mr.Mom

This is how daddy dresses me when he stays home to take care of me.

Christmas was here?

I had all the grandparents in town for my very first Christmas and let me tell you it is a lot of work to keep those folks entertained. I am still recovering, napping more than usual. Mommy can't believe how good I was on Sun and today. Papa and Gramma's flight to Portland was cancelled so they made the drive down to SoCal on Tuesday, Grandpa Glenn flew in on Christmas morning and Nana was already here. Now most people are so excited about x-mas that they get up super early to open presents and I was no exception. Of course I get up late, early and every time in between on a regular basis. I had to wait for grandpa Glenn's flight to arrive. By the time he got here it was time for my mid morning nap. So if the photos seem to show me little uninterested in xmas, not true. Just resting my eyes. I'd had a long night of keeping mommy and daddy awake.
I have been spending a lot of time in my new play saucer. It is really cool and keeps me busy for 20 minutes at a time. If you read my musings on a regualr basis you will get to see the new wardrobe that I acquired as presents from my fan club.

Christmas Pageant

Merry Christmas everyone. I know I am only 3 and a half months old but I am excited for Christmas tomorrow. I refused to go to sleep for ever. Daddy changed my diaper 2 times for no reason and I still threw a fit. I finally tired myself out and conked out. Temper tantrums use a lot of energy. I am so excited because I will have both sets of grandparents here for my first Christmas. I'll let you know how everything goes later. Now, let me tell you about the past week.
Jesus was perfect and I was the perfect baby Jesus in the Christmas pageant. I fell right into character. I was such a good actor, I fell asleep in Mary's arms. Everyone told mommy and daddy that I was the best baby Jesus ever. One lady told mommy that her son was baby Jesus one year but he only lasted about a minute before he was replaced by a doll because he screamed so loud. Everyone knows who I am at church and they think I am an easy baby. Boy, I sure fooled them. I like to behave in public and save my meltdowns for home.
I got to spend some quality time with mommy in the kitchen making Christmas cookies. They say to never trust a skinny chef and from the looks of me you know the cookies must be good.
My cousins are snowed in up in Portland but it is pretty darned cold here in Redondo Beach. I really have to bundle up when I go outside with a hat, mittens and a cozy quilt.
Mommy took me to the yoga girls holiday get together and I got to hang with my buddy Finn. Don't we look cute?
The rest are just pictures of me looking cute in all of my outfits this week.

Squealing

I have recently learned to squeal. It is very loud and if I do it right I might even be able to break glass. Mommy and daddy are very impressed when I do this at four in the morning. This is just one way I can say how happy I am. I have also learned to talk. Ok so I don't know any words but I can recognize when I am supposed to respond. When mommy or daddy talk to me and ask me questions I talk right back to them. We have wonderful conversations.
I still enjoy waking up mommy and daddy in the middle of the night. It's not even that I'm hungry(although I usually am) or that I have a squishy diaper. I just get lonely in my crib and would like some company. Yes that's right. I am sleeping in my crib now. My folks moved my crib upstairs because I hated sleeping in my cradle. It was the pits. I had been too big for it for like a month and a half. It was cold and I didn't like how it rocked side to side.
I forgot to mention that I participated in my first 5K. It was the Manhattan Beach Yule Tide run on the beach at low tide. I ran with daddy in the baby bjorn and it was more of a walk and I cried for the lead up and through the start. I don't know what daddy was thinking. It was at 5pm on one of the coldest days of my life and the wind was blowing like something fierce. Daddy did his best as a wind block and I passed out. We didn't do the whole thing cause mommy told daddy she was worried that I might get sick. I am a little disappointed that in my first race I got a DNF but whatever. I'm a tough chick and was good for the whole thing. I think mommy and daddy were cold and wussed out. I am already preparing for the SuperBowl 10K. Then I get to race in style in the BOB stroller with two of daddy's friends and their kids.
I am looking forward to my role in the Christmas play at church on Sun. Can you guess who I will be? That's right..................................Jesus. I'm only 3 months old I have the starring role. Don't worry, I won't let this go to my head. I won't forget all the little people in my life. Did I mention that the show starts at 5pm? That also coincides with my daily fussies so it might not go as planned. We'll see. Have a great week.

busy month

I've been very busy the past few weeks. We got a Christmas tree, I went to a baby shower, I got to go to my first "mommy & me movie" at the theatre, I had my yoga baby friends over for lunch and got to show off my new play land, and I've had lot's of stroller rides to the mall and the beach. Mommy is back at work, so I have been having a great time wearing Nana out each day.
I'm only 3 months old, but my 6 month clothes are already getting tight on me. I am growing like crazy! I have discovered my thumb, I can grasp my toys and I love to look around and laugh at everything.
I got to meet my Aunt Megan, Uncle Jim and my cousins this past week. We saw Santa when he stopped by our neighborhood the other day. It was very exciting! I've been on my best behavior since my aunt believes I am a perfect angel who is falsely accused of having meltdowns in the past. She took some great pictures of me. I was exhausted from all of the photo shoots. It's a rough life, being so cute and perfect.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving at the beach yesterday. I went with mommy and daddy, nana, grandma and papa, and my friend Finn and his mommy and daddy. It was a fun time until we all got too cold from the wind. We managed to fit in a nice photo shoot before the clouds rolled in though.
It's been a busy week. I've been a very good girl entertaining all of my guests with laughs and smiles. I even napped at restaurants so everyone could eat their dinner as a special treat. Mommy got me a cool pack n play so I have a crazy playland for all my toys away from the dog now. I love to play with my monkey toys or my fists the most. They are very interesting and tasty.

MELTDOWN

If you couldn't tell from the title I have a new act. Mommy and daddy call it a Meltdown. This is when, for no other reason, I cry as loudly and feverishly as possible. I make my face turn purple and sometimes I can squeeze out a few tears. I can be full of milk with no bubbles in my tummy and have a totally dry diaper and I will Meltdown. I really like to do this with daddy especially when mommy goes out to run errands. I will wait five minutes after I hear the garage close and then I let daddy have it. I like to see how long I can keep it up before I tire myself out. Usually mommy is the only one who can calm me down during one of these episodes. I am not sure how I will behave when papa and grandma come for Thanksgiving. Nana is back and taking good care of me. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Eleven weeks

Mommy pointed out that all my photos this week were taken in jammies, not going out clothes. I didn't get out much after mommy took me down to the beach with her friends and I couldn't make it back to the car without a major meltdown. I had a not so little accident and to top it off mommy had to feed me right on the beach. I wasn't a happy camper but then neither was mommy.
I met my Aunt Elaine and Uncle Mike this past weekend. I was a really good girl smiling and laughing while they were visiting. I was the hostess with the mostest.
I have developed the grasping skill and I am getting really good. I can almost pull the padded arch down on top of me on my play mat. This isn't good because then I can't see myself in the mirror anymore.
I still keep mommy up all night. I really just like the attention and hanging out with mommy in the big bed. Again, mommy doesn't appreciate this but I can't get enough of it. Kiwi and daddy suffer too cause they can hear me fussing. Last night Kiwi woke up and raced downstairs to check on me. I was OK because I was asleep until I heard him come crashing down the stairs.
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving next week cause nana, grandma and papa will all be here. Ta ta for now. Have a great week.

14lbs.,12oz. today

Kana will be 11 weeks old tomorrow. She weighed in at 14lbs.,12oz. at her lactation appt today. Her weekly weight gain is getting closer to the normal-high range. She has been a really happy baby lately. We are enjoying all the smiles and laughs. We've been staying busy with our yoga baby friends at weekly outings. Here is a picture of our group walking on the beach.
We've had to stay inside with the windows closed the past few days due to the smoke outside from the fires. Kana enjoyed sleeping in her stroller at the mall this weekend. It's pretty toasty in the house without any a/c so everyone in town seemed to have their kids at the mall for the cool air. We sure hope cooler fall weather is coming one of these days. We have a lot of cute fall & winter clothes to wear!
A new slideshow should be up soon. Stay posted...

A Perfect 10

I am ten weeks old today and as you can see from the photos I am starving to death. I have been really good but mommy and daddy are a tough lot to train. They are just too slow on the uptake. There are really only two things that I require; milk and a clean diaper. They don't understand that just because they changed my diaper 15 minutes ago it might need to be changed again. Mommy tries to keep me on an eating schedule(about every 3 hours) but six ounces isn't what it used to be. That might only last for an hour or a little more. It just depends.
A heads up if you want to hold me, watch out for my head. I tend to head butt shoulders and chests in the search for more milk whether you have any or not. I had a good time playing with the other babies at a party this weekend in Finn's new playpen! He has some cool toys!
I am really enjoying all my toys now, like the bouncy chair, the swing, the tummy mat and all the little musical stuffed animals and such. My favorite toy of all is the mirror. I could look in a mirror for hours and never be bored. I laugh all day, keeping mommy busy with the camera, except for when I need food or a diaper change. I am sleeping longer, up to five and a half hours, but that isn't helping mommy much since I like to fall asleep around 7 or 8 in the evening. Mommy tried to beat me at my own game and go to bed early but Kiwi woke mommy up cause he had to go pee pees. Daddy slept right through that one. He's quite the heavy sleeper. That's all for this week.

Veteran's Day

I just wanted to say thank you to all those men and women who have kept us safe in the past and in the present.
Today's photo is of my greatest veteran. It's my great grandpa. He was a doctor in WWII. My grandma is with him in the picture.

2 times the love

I'm nine weeks old today and I am a happy camper. Like mommy said I got my shots yesterday and I took 'em like a champ cause I'm a tough chick. I went to a Halloween party in San Diego on Friday where I got to meet Josh and Lydia, daddy's friends from high school, and their daughter CJ. I slept the whole 2+ hour ride to the party and all the way back. I don't want to toot my own horn but I was the perfect baby at the party. I slept on daddy for a long time while he got to watch the movie Ironman and then I spent the rest of the evening impressing the guests with how cute I was. My costume was a skeleton outfit. Quite ironic don't you think?
My gramma and aunt Megan picked out the costume for me but I wish they had bought the first one they saw since it was the bigger size. Of course it wasn't their fault. Who would guess that I would be in the 95 percentile for weight and 90th percentile for height. I'm wearing some 6 month clothing already. Nana had to alter the costume so I could straighten my legs. I bet you never knew skeletons did ballet. Look closely at the photo and you'll understand.
Papa and gramma think I'll be athletic. I sure hope so cause otherwise in a couple of years I'll look like the Pillsbury Doughboy and have to pause to catch my breath after walking across the room.
I took the craziest bath on Sunday. Nana gave me a regular bath in the morning and then a little later in some big room with a whole bunch of people watching, some strange lady was pouring water over my head. I'll admit that I've had some difficulty keeping my poop in my diaper but I was fresh like Irish Spring so washing my hair again seemed a bit redundant. I'm sure they'll let me know what that was all about later.
I would just like to say in my own defense, I have never pooped on my head. Mommy's hand: yes, my head: no.
Mommy says I have been an angel lately. I am happiest in the morning when we get up for the day. Mommy likes to have a daily photo shoot and I'll admit I like it too. I smile and giggle and ham it up for the camera. This makes mommy smile after being up with me half the night. She is the best mommy around.
I hope everyone got out and voted today. I know I did. I even have the sticker to prove it. I won't reveal who I voted for but let's just say mommy took me to the polls. I don't have the fine motor control to handle the InkaVote pen so I have to assume mommy just doubled her vote. Let's hope she chose wisely. Have a fantastic week. I know I will.
Love,
Kana

9 weeks old

Kana has already doubled her birth weight! She measures 95% for weight and 90% for height. She had her 2 month shots yesterday and weighed in at 13lbs, 14oz and 23.5 inches tall! The chub on her thighs must have really cushioned against the shots because she barely cried at all. She was smiling and laughing at herself in the mirror for most of the appointment. We were so proud of her! Auntie Steff even stayed an extra day to go to the appt because I was afraid Kana would be in so much pain that I would need some support.
Kana has surprised us all this week with her happy disposition. No crying or fussing, just happy baby day and night. It is a new phase that we are really enjoying while it lasts! ;o)- She is learning to enjoy her toys and is sleeping better. Not sleeping through the night yet, but not fussing when she does wake up about 2-3 times through the night. She is not a fan of the cradle though. We can hear her wiggling and scratching her hands on the bars all night. I think she is outgrowing it. We'll have to move her downstairs to her big girl crib very soon!
Kana was Baptised at St. Cross Episcopal Church on Sunday, Nov.2nd. She was a perfect angel through the entire day. She slept through most of the service, but when she was awake, she just loved looking up at the colorful lights and listening to the music.
It's been a very busy week. Lot's of new pictures. I am sure she'll post her new slideshow soon!

It's been 8 weeks already

If you couldn't tell from the title of this entry I am 8 weeks old today. Boy does time go by quickly. It seems like just yesterday I was peeing and pooping my pants......Oh yeah, that was yesterday.......... and today.
There have been some comments that daddy always looks so tired in the pictures I post. There are a couple of reasons for this. Reason one; mommy is the one taking the pics most of the time and she likes to catch daddy napping. Reason two; I really haven't been letting mommy or daddy sleep much. It's a lot of fun to scream at the top of my lungs at 3 in the morning. Lately I have been waking up every hour and requesting sustenance or for my diaper to be changed. Let's not make any false allusions here. Mommy is the one who takes the brunt of my abuse cause she has to feed me and cuddle me and calm me down but daddy get woken up all the same. You'll see in the first photo that daddy figures that if he buries his head in between the pillows of the couch he can't hear me cry. What an amateur.
I met my great grandmother this past week too. You can see the photo of four generations together. I also went to my first real Halloween party with a bunch of babies, literally. Mommy's friends had all the yoga babies over for a get together in our costumes. As you can see I was resting up so I could be awake all night. Besides the party wasn't really for the babies. We were just an excuse so the adults could hang out with some other adults.
I fit in the BOB now! That is the jog stroller and I love cruising the strand or the neighborhood in in. I pretend it is my chariot and I am Cleopatra. That is my Secret Service agent sitting next to me. He is one tough cookie. If anyone gets too close he is sure to bark. Only very important people have a Secret Service detail.
My crown, what you folks might call a hat is a little big for me right now but I'm doing my best to grow into it. The growing isn't relegated to just my head. I should be wearing size 2 diapers now as my thighs are the size of summer squash but mommy and daddy are insisting that I finish up the pack of size ones. They tell me things like, "Do you think diapers grow on trees?," or "When you make enough to buy them yourself then you can choose the size you like.," or my favorite "There are kids in Africa that don't even have diapers."
I am trying to learn to read with daddy. I'm not sure the LA Times is the appropriate material to begin learning to read with but since it is mostly pictures and ads these days I don't think it will be too challenging.
The rest of the photos are some action shots of me playing. They may not look like action shots so you will have to trust me. I was moving around like a holy roller on a Sunday.
That's all from me I hope everyone has a great day.

Happy Birthday Aunt Megan

I wanted to start off by wishing my Aunt Megan a Happy Birthday. I know it was yesterday but I wanted to mention it anyway especially since daddy didn't send his card in time. What a slacker. I can't wait to meet her when she and her family come to visit in December. I have heard great things about her.
Now enough about her this blog is all about me so let's get to the important stuff. I've had a busy week. Last Saturday we went to an early Halloween festival in a nearby park. I had on one of my lovely costumes. As you can see from the photos, I look fabulous in and around orange. I probably could have slept for a while in the pumpkin patch if there weren't all those pesky kids around wanting to have their pictures taken. I can't say I had a great time at the park simply because I slept the whole time. We have had quite the heat wave recently but the park is on a hill and the ocean breeze felt awesome.
Mommy did a nice series of me on the bed. I like to call it "giggles in yellow." Yes those are real smiles. The genuine thing. They aren't the result of an attempt to discharge a large gas bubble. I laugh the most right after I spit up on mommy. She makes the funniest faces when I do that. I like to watch the vein by her temple throb. I have started to make her adjust. She used to throw everything in the wash right after I spit up but now she just spot cleans.
I spent an afternoon at the beach on the strand with mommy, Nana, and Kiwi. I like the beach. I'm like Gigit, just a whole lot cooler, 21st century style. I went to lunch this week with mommy and her girlfriends and their babies(my homies). Let's just say waitresses don't like having 5 strollers in their workspace. I was good for a bit but I had a major, grade A, world class meltdown. It had been a long day because we went straight from the doctor's office to lunch and I had to put my foot down. Enough was enough. I needed my sleep and I got it when mommy took me home. No lunch for mommy. Just doing my part to make sure she stays slim and trim. I don't want her to have to wear "Mom Jeans." If you don't know what I'm talking about go to http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/clips/mom-jeans/229048/.
I found out at the Dr.'s appt that I am now 12lbs,3 oz and I have just about moved on to the next size diaper, 2 that is.
Mommy and daddy are pretty tired by now. I haven't been letting them get much sleep for the past 7 weeks and I'm getting a bit fussy myself. I'm off for now but check back next week for more pics and my poetic ramblings.

Mid week update

I have to apologize for putting up the slide show this week. It is so hard to find good help these days. My tech guy who does my slide shows for me thinks he has other priorities like work and things like that. I had a long talk with him to let him know that if he didn't shape up I would have to let him go. That would be a shame. He's a really nice guy and mommy seems to like him but I can't put up with his lackadaisical attitude. I had him prepare a second slide show for your viewing pleasure.
Oh by the way, mommy has given me a new nickname. It's piglet cause I'm always eating and if you notice Piglet and I are the same shape. Mommy says she is Eeyore since I keep her up all night. I am quite the pill. I even wore out Nana yesterday. Mommy worked at the gym and Nana was home alone with me. By the time daddy got home Nana was pooped. I wouldn't let her put me down for more than two seconds before I would cry bloody murder. My vocalization has become quite pronounced. Enjoy both slideshows and have a great week.
P.S. If it takes extra time to post new photos don't get your diapers all in a bunch. Quality takes time..................and my tech guy is slow.

My side of the 6 week story

OK. I like to eat. Check that, I love to eat. I can't get enough milk. I love it when it is running down my chin and my face looks like a glazed doughnut. I am growing like a weed and I need that milk to fuel that growth. I weighed in at 11 pounds 12 ounces today and that was on an empty stomach. Mommy calls me her Buddah baby but I'm just a growing girl. My feet are huge so the rest of my body needs to catch up to them. Besides, no one likes to be the small fry. The little babies at mommy's appointment today were just that, little. I felt like the Hulk rolling in there. Mommy thought they were cute but I thought they looked a little sickly. They could only eat one ounce to my 6.5 ounces. And mommy didn't make a big deal about it, but that is a record for the lactation department. A record! I'm only six weeks old and I'm a record holder. I'm not being cocky I am just excited. Hopefully this will be the first of many great achievements in my life.
There is a slight problem with this growth though. It seems that all my 0-3 months clothes are a little too tight. They are really cute but my legs are too long for the footed PJ's and my torso is too long for my onesies. I'm only 6 weeks and I'm into the 3-6 month clothes. Crazy.
My Nana is back in town for a while and I like having her around. She will hold me all day if I like and she can always calm me down when I start Crankin like crazy. Kiwi came back with Nana as well. I like having him around as he like to check on me and make sure I'm OK. Kiwi doesn't appreciate that I kept him up all night though. He is a little cranky and very tired.
Tomorrow is a big day for mommy and me. She is going to go to work for the day. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. Just have to see how I react with only Nana around. Not sure how mommy is going to react either. It will probably be harder on her than it will be on me. I will post new photos tomorrow. I don't know how to upload the slide show to my blog and daddy is too tired to do it tonight. It seems that having someone, I won't mention any names, screaming in your ear half the night doesn't allow one adequate rest.
Thanks for dropping by to check up on me. Goodnite.

6 weeks old today

This growth spurt is out of control! Kana gained 11 oz in just one week! She now weighs 11lbs 12oz! She set a record sucking down 6+ oz. in less than 15 mins at her lactation appointment today. The other moms were shocked that she was only 6 weeks old.
No more tiny little Kana! She is a huge baby now, looking to outweigh all her friends that were born heavier than she was! She is set to pass them all up in height and weight. She is outgrowing all of her cute little clothes. We're a little sad that she is growing up so fast. Our delicate little newborn is a thing of the past! Just look at those chubby cheeks!
She's really learned to exercise those lungs lately. It's been great fun. ;o)-

Buddha Baby

Kana weighed in at 11 pounds today at our breastfeeding appointment!!! The lactation consultant said her rapid weight gain is fine since she has also grown in length to 22.75 inches! Those legs are getting so long. She wore her last newborn diaper today. She's moving up to the big size 1 diapers now!
We are having some issues with an overproduction of milk, so she's had some tummy troubles that will hopefully be gone soon. Otherwise we've all been doing really well.

I had my postpartum appt today. I'm cleared to go back to work next week. I don't know how I will be able to leave my little cutie pie though, even part time... so we will see how that goes. I only have 6 lbs left to lose to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. Since I work at the gym, hopefully that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I've decided to take the year off from flying.
My adorable 11lb. drooling shoulder weight has been keeping me quite busy. She is really taking advantage of the fact that it's cute to be chubby when you're a baby.
We can't wait until Nana comes back, as our refrigerator has never been so empty and we're pretty sure Kana prefers Nana changing her all of her diapers. ;o)-

I'm almost 5.......weeks that is.

I didn't realize the popularity of this blog. People keep asking daddy when I am going to write again. I guess they don't know how busy my schedule is. Once a week is about all I can handle. Besides, do you know how small my hands are compared to the keyboard? Let me get you up to speed on my week.
My Auntie Stephanie came to visit for a couple of days this week. We had a great time shopping and hanging out. She's not really my auntie but I call her that because she is my mommy's best friend. It's nice to have a extra set of arms to sleep in. I don't really like sleeping alone. I much prefer a comfortable lap or a warm chest over the cold jail, I mean crib, that mommy and daddy try to put me in. I love having visitors, just not too many at once. Then I get overwhelmed and start crankin'. Just let mommy know if you want to come see me. You can hold me and change my diapers while mommy takes a nap. She doesn't get enough sleep because I like to eat every two hours at night.
Mommy and daddy took me out for a night on the town last night. It was more like a late afternoon/early evening dinner at BJ's. I was very well behaved the entire time. I slept in my car seat that they put on the table. It didn't fit on the bench and the aisle was a high traffic zone so they didn't want me to keep getting jostled.
I have some nice new photos for this week. I even agreed to a bathtub shoot. They told me it would be tastefully done. I thought that meant there would be milk involved, I was wrong. I actually don't mind taking baths now cause then I'm footloose and diaper free. That last part is a bit of a problem though. The warm water has a tendency to relax me and then I relax all over the tub or my towel when I get out. I hope everyone has a great week. Tune in next time for more exciting adventures in Kana's world.

4 weeks old tomorrow

I thought I would narrate the new slide show this week.
Picture this, oh wait. You don't have to imagine cause I included pictures. Silly me. We open with a shot of me sleeping in my car seat. This was a one shot deal. I got it right the first time. Of course this was taken at the end of a drive. Not sure what it is about riding in the car but I love it. It puts me right to sleep.
I included this next shot to show everyone how hard my daddy is working. He is a teacher, a real estate agent and when mommy is off napping he does housework too. My gramma might think this isn't a real photo but I can attest to the legitimacy of it. I was there, I was sleeping but I was there.
These next three shots are just mommy and me. I have developed an incredible sucking reflex when I get hungry and I tried to get some milk from mommy's lip. That experiment was unsuccessful although I did get a nice kiss out of it.
Lots of people notice my ears and say how cute they are but I wanted to show off my bellybutton. I think it looks like a mini Cinnabon. I've never had one but daddy says that's what it looks like. He say's I'll like Cinnabon when I get older.
In the middle of the week mommy got to go see her friend Tamara and her son Logan. I slept the whole time we were over there but Logan thought I was pretty neat.
Mommy is introducing me to the bouncy chair. It vibrates and plays music and has lights too. I like it more and more. Mommy can put me in it for a few minutes while she does some laundry or just lets her arms rest after holding me all morning. As you can see I am all about safety. I make sure I wear my seat belt each time I get in the chair. You can never be too careful.
Nothing special about this next photo. I just like blanket daddy made and I am having fun in the shot.
As you can see from this next photo I haven't been missing many meals and I can have some wicked hair days. Daddy has dubbed this one "Chuckles the Clown." Mommy doesn't like this shot but since Daddy is my administrative assistant he put it in for me. Let me just say if you can afford an admin it is worth every penny. It really frees up my day for the things I really want to be doing like sleeping or eating, peeing or pooping. Oh yeah that's all I do. Typing this blog would really cramp my style. Thanks again daddy. Your check is in the mail.
Wai Gong made it down from Elk Grove to see me this weekend. Wai Gong is Chinese for maternal grandfather. He was rather impressed with me until I started crying and I pretty much did that for the rest of his stay. Mind you he was only here for about 24 hours but I did my best to try and cry as much as I could. He also brought his buddy, Pinky. He found Pinky at Baskin Robbins and they travel everywhere together.
This last photo is a tough one for me. Nana went home for a couple of weeks and she took Kiwi with her so he could play with his sister Daisy. I miss them.
That's all for this week. My Auntie Steph is coming into town tomorrow to see me so I should have some crazy stories next week. I hope you are enjoying seeing me grow and getting the inside into what I'm thinking. Let me know what you think and leave a comment.
Good Night.
Love,
Kana

We've had a busy week! We made our first public appearance when we met baby Finn and baby Isabella for lunch at BJ's yesterday. Everyone slept through the meal, which was fabulous for the mommies! Then when it was picture time, Finn decided he'd had enough and woke up to eat. We had to rush home before Kana decided to do the same.
Daddy has nicknamed Kana "baby velociraptor" because of the funny sounds she makes when she is hungry... which is pretty much all the time. Everyone was shocked when we weighed her today and the scale read 9lbs! She is only 23 days old! The lady at the store said I must be making chocolate milk. (more like heavy cream! geeze!) Kana is outgrowing her cute little newborn clothes faster than we ever expected.
She had her first bath today, now that her belly button is completly healed. You can tell from the pictures how much she enjoyed that. ;o)-
Daddy had his first big night watching Kana alone. I took Nana to a musical while Sean stayed home with Kana and Kiwi. She napped like a perfect angel on daddys chest the whole time, of course. She was well rested when I got home, so we could stay up to party all night. Fun! Fun!

Kana's Musings

Hi all. It has been a very busy week for me. Daddy went back to school last Monday so it was just Mommy and Nana looking after me. I was a perfect angel all week until Friday. I decided it was time for my first real meltdown. Nana left early for the airport and it was emotional for both of us. Mommy took me home and then Kiwi cut his foot. He was tracking blood all over the house and Mommy was a little upset about this. I wasn't getting enough attention so I made my move. I started to cry and boy did I a make a production of it. Daddy came home and I calmed down a little bit. Then Papa and Gramma showed up. I wanted attention but this was crazy. I was passed around like a hot potato. I would just get comfortable and then someone would have to get up. Then I was passed to the next person and it would take a long while to adjust to them. I pretty much cried all afternoon and evening.
They say you only have one chance to make a first impression. Let's just say it's a good thing I'm cute because my behavior was not endearing me to my grandparents. This behavior wasn't helping Daddy either cause I cried and fussed all night. Mommy is accustomed to my nighttime rants but Daddy isn't. Mommy takes me out of the room so Daddy isn't a walking zombie at work the next day but for the weekend Mommy wanted to make sure Daddy appreciates what she does for him. I got to spend all night keeping Daddy up.
I was so tired, after a 18 hours of fussing and crabbing, I slept on Papa in the Lovesac all morning. I started back up again Sat afternoon(just to show everyone who runs this house). By this point Papa and Gramma were sure that getting a hotel for the weekend was the best decision ever.
I was good on Sunday. I slept a lot and I even let them put me in the cradle to sleep. I don't know about you but I'm a stomach sleeper. I'll take a warm, loving chest where I'm on my stomach over a lousy crib or cradle, on my back, any day. The highlight of of my weekend was when Gramma sang and rocked me to sleep. She says she had forgotten lots of the words but hey, they are all new to me. I don't know any better. I slept for 4 hours on Gramma and I would have gone longer but Mommy woke me up to feed me. I was hungry but I could have waited a while longer. I was warm and cozy and feeling the love. So what if my diaper smelled like last weeks trash. I lived in my own filth for 40+ weeks, what's another hour in a wet nappy. Besides, Daddy is smelly when he holds me after working out. I don't make him shower(that's Mommy's job).
I turn 3 weeks old tomorrow and that's exciting. I'm growing like a weed and putting on weight. I'm the opposite of that show "The Biggest Loser." I have put together a new slide show for my fans. enjoy and I will talk to you next week.
Love,
Kana

Growing So Fast

Kana is 13 days old today and had her first appointment with her pediatrician. Everything went well. She pooped on the nurse while she was taking her temperature. I guess she was getting even with her for making her lay there naked in the cold.
She weighs 7lbs 14oz already! That is a huge weight gain since she was born at just 6lbs 12oz less than 2 weeks ago! She also gained some height! She is now 21 inches! She is in the 30th% for her weight and her head size, but 70th% for her height! My doctor always told me the baby would be tall and skinny. We can't believe how fast she is growing! We want to cherish every moment.
Daddy had to go back to work today and was very sad to leave Kana. Tonight is our 7th anniversary, so we will go out to dinner while Kana stays home with Nana. We tried a bottle the other day, but she gave daddy a hard time when it didn't heat well enough for her tastes. We'll see how it goes tonight. Luckily, fresh milk won't be too far away and can leave the restaurant if Kana can't handle it.
Her belly button fell off last night! Whoohoo! Now she has a pretty belly.
She is still sleeping the day away and partying all night. Kana and I have a lovely time changing diapers, eating and looking at the lights through the blinds while lying on the floor in the living room each night. Daddy brought the rocking chair upstairs for us last night, so that was a nice treat. I don't know why we even have a cradle, she never sleeps in there. I was more comfortable sleeping on the floor most of my pregnancy, so I guess Kana got used to that and wants to continue the tradition. ;o)-
Kana had her 1st blessing in church yesterday and was introduced to the congregation as the baby Jesus for this year's Christmas pageant.

My new friends

Here are a few cute photos of me lounging on my Boppy Pillow as well as some with my new friends. They aren't exactly new, we've known each other for about six months in utero. Ethan, the biggest of the three of us, was just born two days ago and Finn is the geezer of the group since he is a month old now. These were taken at our first group social in San Pedro.

Kana and Kiwi

Kana and Kiwi are getting to be best buddies. Kiwi was very curious at first and tried to lick her aggressively every time he could get close enough, but now he is used to her and just wants to protect her and sniff her diaper. ;o)- When she cries, he runs around to let every one know. He looks for her in the cradle every morning when he returns from his morning walk with Nana. He still has some jealousy issues, but he is learning.
Mom & dad are doing extremely well on little sleep... guess it's all that international flying that trained us to function on no sleep. We are just in awe of Kana's every move. She loves to make funny faces and has already learned to flip herself over. She is very strong. It must be from mom lifting weights the morning that she went into labor. Mom is already back in her favorite jeans thanks to Kana being such a good eater. Nana is having a great time changing baby outfits 5x a day with matching socks and hats, of course. Our friend, baby Ethan was born today, so that completes the yoga baby group. Soon we will all be hanging out together again.

Kana's first week

Baby Kana's first week of life has been the most amazing experience of our lives. She is such a blessing. She was worth the wait! We had our lactation appointment today and she already weighs 7 lbs! She peed while naked on the scale in a waterfall onto the nurse! The nurse said that she can now feed on demand and sleep as long as she wants because she has no problem gaining weight. Whew! I didn't like waking her up in the middle of the night every 2-3 hours when she was sleeping so soundly. She is a great eater and a really happy baby. She loves being held and looking at lights. Her neck is really strong and she's been moving her head around on her own. She had a date with baby Finn yesterday. We had been going on movie and lunch dates with her other friends for months. The pregnant moms would sit boy-girl-boy-girl at the movies. We can't wait to get the whole gang together again. I think Kana is eating like a maniac so she can catch up to her friends. She is still swimming in the newborn clothes, so tiny and adorable... but she's growing every day so we are cherishing these moments! We have pictures of her every move, of course. She can't wait to explore the world and meet everyone!
Thank you all for your warm wishes!

I'm here.

Hi everyone. I just arrived in town today at 3:25pm. I weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces with a length of 19.5 inches. Oh yeah, my feet are HUGE. That's why mommy's ribs have been sore lately.
My trip out didn't start so well. Mom woke up at 11:30pm on 9/1/08, in labor on Labor Day, after she had been asleep for less than an hour. The contractions were hard and pretty close together, about every 3 minutes. Mommy woke up Daddy a little while later and said, " I think these are the real ones. They don't feel anything like last week's. So daddy monitored mommy's contractions for over an hour and since they were so regular he said it was time to head for the hospital.
At Kaiser Harbor City, the nurse told mommy that she was only 1cm dilated and she needed to walk for the next 2 hours. Mommy was freezing the the mean nurse wouldn't let her wear her warm pants, only the breezy hospital gown! She was not the most compassionate lady around. Mommy was crying and she told her that the pain would only get worse. Her contractions got harder and came faster until mommy was exhausted. The pain was really bad and mommy thought she was going to die. Fortunately there was a shift change in the staff and the new nurse & midwife got mommy out of the bed and into the rocking chair. Then mommy got this injection that numbed a lot of the pain & made her sleepy so she napped between contractions with her eyes rolling back in her head, freaking daddy out a bit. She went from 1-4cm and I could start to see the light.
About 11am, Mommy got an epidural and that sealed the deal. Almost all the pain went away except for her right hip. Poor daddy could hardly stand seeing mommy in all of that pain.
By 2pm mommy was fully dilated and she started to push me out around 2:30ish. The whole time mommy was calm and relaxed (who would have thought) and I popped out at 3:25pm(on Nana's birthday). I was so happy to be out of that hot and humid womb that I just lay on mommy's chest and snuggled up.
I really like my mommy and daddy. I have mommy's eyelids and daddy's eyes(gray). I got mommy's cute button nose and her long legs but I got daddy's little lips. He will hear about that when I'm a teenager. I'm including some new pictures of me. I hope to see you soon. I want to meet everyone whose has been following my story.
We had a nice relaxing 48 hours in the hospital as little family. Mommy never thought she would want to stay, but she really enjoyed it there.
Love,
Kana Keilani McCue

No labor on Labor Day

Well, apparently she didn't want an August birthday!
I had an appointment for fetal monitoring at the hospital today. She wasn't moving much, so they had me drink some water and wait awhile. The nurse did a quick ultrasound to make sure there was enough amniotic fluid and that the baby was in the correct position. Everything was fine. I have to go back Thursday to test again.
I guess I won't get to use any of the cute newborn clothes... they only fit up to 8 lbs. We are guessing she is at least 10lbs by now! Or maybe it just feels like that. She's definitely had a growth spurt the past few days! I had bet that she would be 6 lbs, but that was 3 weeks ago. It seems like she has doubled in size since then! I'm pretty sure she'll be walking and talking by the time she decides to make her appearance.

AHHHH!

The due date is here. I have nothing nice to say. ;o(

Week 39... still waiting!

Stubborn Baby

So, she doesn't want to come out...
The midwife scheduled my induction for next Friday, on Sean's birthday , September 5th. We really hope something happens before then. She advised me to pack some DVD's and games because I could be in the hospital for awhile... not what I wanted to hear.

UPDATE

I had my appointment with the doctor today and she said she does not agree with the midwife changing my due date. The baby measures normal so she changed my due date back to August 30th! yeah! So Baby Kana can officially come out healthy any day now. The doctor said she is probably skinny and tall. Maybe she won't fit in that cute French crab suit after all. I lost 5 lbs this week, but she said that is fine. The baby is still growing. ;o)- My belly button hasn't flattened out yet, but it's stretching to capacity.

any day now...

Well, she didn't make it out on lucky 8.8.08 like we'd hoped. I guess she needs some more time to grow in there. I gained another 2 lbs last week so she should be caught up to the other kids on size. The midwife told me she was about 4 lbs 2 weeks ago, then last week she said she was almost 6 lbs. I am guessing that she is making things up as she goes.
I have been feeling ok the past few days. It's been pretty hot, but I've still been getting lots of walking in. Sleeping downstairs in the guest room has been really helpful. It's cooler down there, I get to have all the pillows surrounding me, and I can toss and turn and not worry about waking Sean up. My loyal guard dog, however, refuses to leave my side. He won't sleep on his bed upstairs now, so I try to keep my movements to a minimum, so the spoiled little puppy is not disturbed. He was very annoyed when I got up at 4am last night and tried to read with the lights on dim. Baby Kana has been moving a lot lately. She loves to poke her feet out to the side. It looks pretty freaky when my stomach is lopsided! We can't wait to see her.... any day now!

Week 37 and counting!

We had our last big night out at MJ's 80's Prom theme B-day party last night.
I think we'll be taking it easy and staying in for these last few weeks. It is impossible to sleep with the braxton hicks contractions shooting pain throughout the night. The books say it's mild pain, I beg to differ. My back pain is getting unbearable. We're really hoping that Kana is ready for her birthday any day now! My little guard dog is getting tired of waking up at 3am to follow me around the house. I guess we're all preparing for the fun schedule ahead with the baby waking up every couple hours. ;o)- I'll just pretend I'm still working those Europe trips where you are always tired and never catch up on sleep. I should be used to it, right!?

36 week appt

I had my 36 week appt with the midwife today. There is a new way to estimate the due date based on belly measurements and ultrasounds, so she is adding 4 days to my due date! If the baby is born on Sept 3rd, we will have a crazy Mah-Mcue family birthday week with my mom on the 2nd, Owen on the 4th and Sean on the 5th! She said the baby is still quite skinny even though I gained 3 lbs. The good news is that her head is down so she is in the correct position for delivery. I am still hoping she is ready to come out mid-August.
I have been practicing my prenatal yoga every day and doing low impact workouts on most days. It's helping to control my back pain, maintain my balance and flexibility... and working out is vital for stress relief. I'm not very good at just taking it easy. I am still having some problems sleeping at night. It's just hard to get comfortable. My back tenses up, tummy hurts, baby likes to do the boogie dance in the middle of the night... and my arms are always very chilly, even when it's hot.
Kiwi has been a snugly pup staying by my side day and night. We really hope he can cope with the competition when the baby comes.

We went to our carseat installation appointment with the CHP on Saturday and got some great safety tips and advice for new parents.
We have 2 more weeks of Lamaze class left. I'm scared but anxious for the birth. I have my birth plan ready, bags are packed, carseat installed, baby room set up... so it's just a waiting game now.

Week 34

Well, I got in trouble at my appt this week because I have not gained any weight. I've been stuck at 20 lb weight gain for almost 2 months now. They want you to gain a pound a week in the 3rd trimester for a healthy baby. My tummy has definitely been growing, so I am not sure why it's not showing up as weight gain. I'm trying to eat more, but I'm never hungry, which is really abnormal for me. ;o)- I was a chubby baby and so was Sean, so we are pretty sure she'll be a good eatter though. I haven't had many pregnancy cravings. Lemonade was big the biggest one. Nothing else out of the ordinary, more food aversions than anything. It's hard to eat dinner because I usually feel nauseous in the evenings and I'll be up all night with an upset tummy if I eat a normal dinner. I have a really hard time breathing lately and I get low back tightening that wakes me up at night. Only 6 weeks to go, I just have to hang in there a little longer. I've been healthy otherwise and compared to most people, the pregnancy really hasn't been very rough. It's been a little traumatizing adjusting to all the changes, but I know it could be much worse.
Sean is back from Vegas, so mom & baby are feeling much better now. It was scary being home alone this close to my due date. Kana didn't move much when he was gone and I was getting worried, but as soon as he got home and talked to my tummy, she started kicking up a storm. She must've missed her daddy. She loves to hear his voice. It always makes her active. She also enjoys kicking Kiwi when he tries to lay in my lap. They are going to be best buddies.
Prenatal Yoga has been going well and hanging out with my yoga mom friends is always the highlight of my week. We have been meeting for lunch and shopping regularly. It is so nice to have friends that are going through the same things. We are all a week apart with our pregnancies. There are half baby girls and half baby boys, so we say they are on a date when we sit together at the movies. ;o)
We have completed most of the baby care classes at Kaiser. We have a few more weeks of Lamaze and the carseat check next weekend. Baby can safely arrive any time after August 9th. Sean was hoping for 8.8.08 for chinese good luck, but that would be a day too early for 37 weeks, so we're hoping for maybe 8.18.08 now. We'll see. Kana will come out whenever she's ready.

July is here!

I am sleeping a little better now that the weather has cooled down and we got a new superpower fan. Kiwi has been very protective of mom and baby. He loves attention and is going to be quite a challenge when baby Kana gets here! She has been kicking and punching up a storm the past few weeks. I've been working out and eating healthy most days of my pregnancy. My major craving has been lemonaid. I've gained about 20 lbs so far, hopefully I won't gain much more.
I'm trying to read all the great baby books everyone has given me so we're prepared for the insanity. I am so thankful that my mom will be back down to help out the first couple of months. I couldn't do it without her! I know it will be tough, but I have to find the time to get back into shape. I have a two month goal. I actually look forward to being able to get my heart rate up high and push myself again. These wimpy workouts are for the birds.
I'd like to go back to work part time as well. We will see how it all works out.
My bag is packed for the hospital. We bought a cute yellow organic onesie with hat and booties for the first baby outfit at the hospital (unisex color, just in case). They said to pack snacks for your coach, but Sean doesn't want me packing those yet. He thinks they won't be fresh and tasty if she comes at the end of next month. ;o)-
Happy 4th of July everyone! We plan to go to a party tomorrow, but things aren't so fun this late in the pregnancy. Not a lot of partying going on lately. When you can't really eat or drink and it's hot and uncomfortable to sit or stand, you're not really the life of the party anymore. he! he! Week 33 is starting soon. August is just around the corner!

Our Baby Shower/ BBQ

We had our co-ed baby shower on June 21st, officially the HOTTEST day of the year! The party was fun but we were cooking in the heat. I would have loved a cool ocean breeze. I thought we paid for the weather living here, what happened? he! he! I am thankful for all of our friends that came over to celebrate with us. It was nice to see everyone! Martha and Steve even flew in from across the country, just for the special day! Kana's room is quite full now with all the great gifts. Sean put the new crib together. Mom & Martha put the matching dressing table together. The tan and pink hawaiian theme will look so cute! We ordered the navy BOB jog stroller online and have just a few more key items to purchase and then we are ready! Only 8 weeks to go. Time is flying by. We have a full schedule of lamaze and baby care classes starting this week.

Week 29

We have our 1st Baby Care class tonight! There are many more scheduled in the next few weeks!
The baby room is painted and carpeted. We even put in a new guest bed so visitors can sleep in comfort when they come to see baby KANA! Yes, we picked her name... still deciding on the middle name, but we are pretty much set on the 1st name. It is a Hawaiian/Japanese name that we both love. (ahh, memories of meeting in Saipan 11 years ago.) She is moving forward in my belly more each day. Everyone says that I don't look very big, but she is growing all the time. I'm still enjoying my prenatal yoga classes and outings with my new mom-to-be friends. Sean has been having lots of sympathy pregnancy sweets cravings. Better him than me. he! he! We are getting excited for the baby shower next weekend! Enjoy the new belly pics I posted today.

Test Results!

Yippee! I passed the first glucose test! The liquid taste ok, like orange soda, but I started feeling nauseous after about 30 mins. and I couldn't wait for it to be over! I am so thankful that I don't have to take the second test! That is pretty rare! I have been so nervous. I heard horror stories from friends that threw up the nasty double strength liquid that they make you drink after fasting and then you have to sit and get blood drawn every hour for 3 hours! I had the tests done this morning, before my appointment and my results were back in a few hours. My nurse midwife is a doll. She said my iron levels and glucose levels were fine. Yeah! I asked her to make sure the baby is normal size because everyone tells me that I don't even look pregnant. I gained 19 lbs already, I certainly didn't look like this before, so I don't know why people say they can't tell! I guess I am just tall so it doesn't show as much. It turns out that the baby is perfect size and I am right on target to gain the recommended healthy amount of weight, so she told me not to worry. The third trimester is here, so we are in the home stretch! Baby MahMcCue will make her appearance at the end of summer! Can you believe it?
I've been feeling ok except for the itchy skin, sinus problems, moodiness & occasional stress headaches. I am ready for it to be over though. I really want to go shopping for cute normal clothes! I miss shopping in Europe on layovers! I guess those days are over, I'll be shopping for baby from now on. ;o)-

Sunday's Rant

Hi again. Sorry I haven't written in a while but I've been busy growing. That's my job you know. One of my favorite things to do is kick Daddy in the head. Mommy has him try to listen to my heartbeat by putting his head on her stomach and that's when I get him. I like to kick him in the ear. Daddy doesn't think it's very funny but Mommy thinks it is hilarious. Of course that's cause I've been kicking mommy so hard that she thinks there is a gang fight going on inside of her. I'm not trying to hurt her. It's just that I'm trying out these appendages I have and they get bigger every day. Besides its not like I have any fine motor control. Heck, I don't have any motor control.
They say I'm a little over 2 pounds right now and mommy's belly just isn't big enough for me.I'm working on trying to make mommy look pregnant. I'm really trying to stretch out so I have more room in here.
Mommy and Daddy took me to IKEA today to look for a crib for me but I didn't like any of them. It's not that I'm picky, I just have refined tastes. Just kidding I don't have any taste. I get all my food through a cord and I'm swimming in my own filth. That's not a great pedestal from which to judge.
Well, I have approximately 13 weeks until I make my appearance in this world. See you later. -Baby without a name (mommy and daddy need to figure this out. I want a name!)

Memorial Day Weekend

Well, the 3rd trimester is about to start and Baby MahMcCue is growing like a weed! She had some strong kicks at Fiesta Hermosa today. Sean says that she was practicing her Mui Thai for the UFC fights tonight. We bought her the cute duck hood towel from our favorite booth. Kiwi had a great time getting lots of attention from the crowd and he really enjoyed the dog booth with free treats. The weather was cooler & overcast, my favorite! It's not fun being preggo in the heat. My stomach definitely changes size throughout the day. Everyone at SCE thought I was faking the pregnancy yesterday and today the baby is sticking herself way out there for all to see. I posted a 7 month belly picture so everyone can see how puffy she is today. Most of the time I look almost normal from the front, but when I turn to the side at the gym and see myself in the mirror, ahhhh... it is very obvious. I have gained about 15 lbs. so far. My next appt is June 2nd, so we'll see how she is progressing. I am not looking forward to the nasty glucose test. Happy Memorial Day Weekend to all! Our Baby Shower/BBQ is June 21st! Wow, time is flying by!

Saturday in the Womb

This baby thing is pretty cool. I like to kick mom in the belly. It's fun and a great way to pass the time. See, there isn't much for me to do inside mom. No books to read, no TV to watch, no PSP, email or cell phone. So I just kick and dance, dance and kick. I also like somersaults and naps. I really can't complain...........but I will. Yesterday, while mommy and daddy were having a yard sale, Kiwi kept trying to sit on mommy's lap. Normally this isn't a big deal cause Kiwi is nice and warm and he keeps me nice and cozy but the chair mommy was sitting in was built for one (or one and a half in my case). Every time he tried to climb up he would kick me. I think I might have a paw print embedded on my forehead. It's not funny. Really, it's not funny. Stop laughing. This is the kind of thing I will be telling my therapist in 30 years.
Other than the paw print on my head the yard sale was fun. We hung out in the front yard and talked to all the neighbors. We didn't sell very much ( daddy had to put the big stuff on Craigslist after it was over) but mommy got a new Mary Kay customer.
I hope mommy and my grandma and nana have a great mother's day.
BabyMahMcCue out!

My first post

Hi everybody. This is my first post to this blog see cause I'm the one this blog is all about. Mommy and Daddy can't decide on what they want to call me so I'm stuck with BabyMahMcCue. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. It's not like I need a name right now since I'm just hanging out in mom's belly. I was really active during the last ultrasound and now mommy is starting to feel my kicks. I'm a good little girl cause I'm already doing what my daddy tells me. Every night he tells me to grow big and healthy and strong, so I am.
Mom thinks she is big as a house but most people don't even think she is pregnant. At least that is what all the women at mom's surprise baby shower said. My Auntie Stephanie planned the whole thing and my "NanaMah: knew all about it and she didn't spill the beans to mommy. Daddy didn't have a clue either. Mommy called to ask him if he knew about the "surprise" and he was just as surprised. I got some really pretty clothes & blankets. All of mommy's friends have little boys so they were excited to buy little girls clothes.
Well that's it for now. It's past my bedtime. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone when I show my face at the end of August.

It's a GIRL!

Well, they are pretty sure it's a girl!
They even printed a close up of her long legs for us. Sean & Steff were there for the ultrasound on 4/21/08 at 22 weeks. We were there for hours because we got an intern lab tech. It worked out because we were not rushed this time and got lots of pics to take home. She showed us all the details and was very nice. Sean is convinced that the baby has my lips and his nose due to the fact that they actually showed up in the pics. (My nose and his lips would have been too small to see. he he!) She was dancing around the whole time and kept wiggling out of the pictures. We think she got tired of the paparazzi because she started crossing her hands over her face towards the end. ;o)-

another ultrasound scheduled!

We have another ultrasound scheduled for April 21st. Since the tests results came back normal last time they don't think it's necessary to re-test, but we insisted. We are dying to know the sex and want to make sure everything is OK at week 22 since the last test was a little early and gave us a scare. ;o)-
I heard the heartbeat at my appointment on Thursday.
I've gained 12 lbs so far, but everyone says they can't see a tummy yet.
I've been feeling a little better the past couple weeks, but still get the headaches. Thank goodness the nauseousness is finally gone. I'm trying to continue my daily work-outs but at a lower intensity. I'm officially out on disability from flying as of March 25th.

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

Test Results

Well, they finally called me back with the results. They were able to run the tests after all, even though the tech said she was too small. Everything looks fine and normal, so that is a relief.
They tech said she wasn't sure, but she didn't see anything, so it might be a girl. We don't know if we should take that as a real answer or not. I have an appointment with the Dr. tomorrow, so I'll see if I can get another ultrasound at 20 weeks to be sure about everything.
