So the plan was to go swimming on Monday evening so I wouldn't get sunburned and have old man skin, like daddy's. It didn't happen like that. After breakfast we walked to the Hawaiian fabric store. I really liked it there, so many bright colors and neat patterns.
Now I understand why daddy likes Hawaiian prints. Mommy found two fun turtle fabrics and hopefully Nana can do something cool with them for my room. I can't believe how much my parents walk. It's absolutely ridiculous. I think we logged over 6 miles on this one shopping trip. After Fabricmart, we walked to a variety of stores searching for cheap strollers. Daddy still wouldn't shell out for a pimp ride for me. I think he liked all the attention I attracted. Mommy found more turtle stuff she wanted to get when she was pregnant with me to decorate my room. She should have just sent daddy over in July to get the stuff. It's probably better she didn't though cause daddy would have come back from the trip with burned lips (he would have forgotten his chapstick) and empty-handed saying he couldn't find anything he thought mommy would like.
After a quick trip to Ala Moana and procuring me a pretty yellow sunhat we took The Bus(finally) to Chinatown to visit my peoples. Let me just say that I am a big fan of public transportation. The Bus was so fun except for a couple of weird people staring at me.
Chinatown was underwhelming. I think we needed a tour guide cause mommy and daddy just wandered around and looked in a few markets and got a snack. Did I mention that I was napping for a good portion of this? I was. We left Chinatown, on foot again, to go see Iolani Palace. Unfortunately it is closed on Monday's so we couldn't go in, but on the plus side we got out a blanket and lounged in the grass in the shade outside.
We took The Bus back to the hotel and daddy put me in my swim suit but I would have none of it. I put my foot down and said there would be no swimming today. Well, I didn't exactly "say" it but I made clear in no uncertain terms. Hanging off the front of daddy all day can be quite exhausting.
That was it for Monday. I passed out early in my swimsuit and daddy had to go get takeout from the Thai restaurant across the street. It smelled great. I can't wait to get some teeth so I can tear into some of that good grub. Mahalo for reading and I will tell you all about my last day in paradise later.
