March Madness
What's up folks? I have had a great March. I got to play on a swing for the first time. I also started eating solid food and as you can see I'm a little messy. I really love my dog Kiwi but he won't let me eat his tail. Mommy and daddy didn't want to give me a real bath so they put me in the kitchen sink. Can you believe it? They treated me like a bunch of dirty dishes. I am having a great time sitting up on my own. Enjoy the show.
I'm ready for the beach!
Wow, we haven't even had our breakfast yet and our fans are already calling with demands for new photos! Geeze! Here is a cute pic I took with my friend Logan at the park the other day. He's got 15 months on me, but I might take him in the weight category. ;o)-
I'm sitting up on my own now. I had 3 fun days at the beach this week and I'm loving it! I even got to sit in a hole in the sand and wear sunscreen like a big kid! Bring on the summer! Mommy likes to keep me bundled up and shaded at all times, but daddy lives on the wild side and lets my feet dangle out in the sun! I love it!
I still won't let anyone get a shot of my teeth yet, and you know mommy tries with hundreds of pictures each day! Oh, and I learned how to give zerberts, my new favorite trick on mommy's shoulder!
More to come...

St. Paddy's Day
Well, Kana has two teeth now....
and her 1st cold! ;o(
I was dreading her 1st time in Kid's Club at the gym! We really don't want to send her to daycare this young because this is exactly what happens. We're still trying to figure out what to do when Nana isn't here to help out the second half of every month. (We're actually waiting until she gets back so we can have some good homecooked dinners again. The cold cereal gets old after awhile.) ;o)- We thought we found a p/t nanny, but the schedule just doesn't work out, so we are back to square one. Too bad Kiwi can't just watch her. he! he!
Friday night was rough. She couldn't breathe lying flat in her crib, so we were up most of the night trying to get her comfortable. She slept like a champ last night, propped up in her carseat next to the new cool air humidifier. Not sure if it works, but she enjoys the white noise anyway. Not a peep out of her all night long! She loves that silly infant seat! She is going to be over the weight limit any day now so we have to break out the convertible, but she just loves being squished in there all cozy.
Well, let's hope this cold/flu passes quickly. Poor little munchkin!

FIRST TOOTH
We discovered Kana's 1st tooth today! (left-middle-bottom)
She is almost 6 1/2 months old, so we had been expecting teeth to show up any day.
I took her with me on a work overnight to Ventura and she screamed most of the night in the hotel, it was lovely! I am sure the people next door really enjoyed it. On the drive home, Nana noticed a tiny bit of tooth poking out... which explains the crazy night. ;o)-
Ok, so pretty much every night is a crazy sleepless night around here, but she was acting especially cranky chewing on her bottle instead of eating it and we all know she doesn't mess around when it's time to eat! he! he! We'll try to get a cute picture of her tiny tooth soon...
She actually started sleeping through the night on her own once the tooth popped through.

Coming Soon....Crawling
I am doing my best to crawl. I am wiggling and wriggling and rolling to get around. And yes, I am getting around. Daddy thinks I'll be crawling any day now. I hope I prove him right. I am loving this solid food stuff. Peas, Banana and Sweet Potato. Mmmmmmmmmmmm good. I do have a few issues with keeping the food in my mouth. It goes in an some always manages to slip back out. I'll keep practicing.

6 Month Well Baby Check
Kana weighed in at 20lbs., 12oz. at her 6 month check up today. She is 27.25 inches tall!
She is wearing 9-12 month clothes now, and even some of those are a little snug on her cute rolls. ;o)-
She hates when the nurse gives her the Tylenol drops, but doesn't really mind the shots. -weirdo! She keeps lifting her head & shoulders in a crunch position, trying to sit up. She made her pediatrician laugh when she kept grabbing the paper she was lying on, bunching it up and trying to eat it.
She has been a happy baby all week... cooing and laughing, rolling around, dancing on her back and shoving everything in her mouth.
She enjoyed her weekly play date with her friends today. She loves visiting her yoga baby buddies! Kana likes to poke her friends in the face, roll on them, swing her legs around and steal their toys, she is a wild one!

My Half Birthday
I hope you didn't forget that I am six months old today. Of course you didn't. I got my first real taste of solid food today. I've been noshing on rice and oatmeal cereal the past few weeks but today was the big day. I had some sweet potato. I wasn't that impressed. Mommy and Nana were laughing at me because I was making funny faces. I missed daddy today because he had to go back to work. I know he loved spending the past two months with me. I can't wait till July when he is off track again.
I've been rolling around......... a lot. I really love rolling when mommy takes my diaper off. It is so liberating, the feel of the carpet on my bare butt, exploring the vast reaches of the family room. I am trying to crawl as well. The only problem is I don't really move anywhere and it just looks like I am boogie dancing on my back.

Valentine's day
Mommy and Daddy ditched me on my very first Valentine's day. They went off to San Diego for a romantic weekend and I was left at home to fend for myself! OK that's not completely true. Nana came down to take care of me so I was on my best behavior, except the day she arrived. I feel bad about it now,but my memory isn't at the MENSA level yet so I wasn't totally sure who she was. But it all came back to me the next morning. We had a wonderful weekend. The bib I'm wearing is courtesy of my Godmother Steff. She sent a huge care package for me.
Kiwi is back and we are really getting along well. He's really looking out for me and he isn't even trying to steal my toys. I have no fear of squirrel attacks with my guard dog around. He even tries to make sure I have a clean face at all times, especially when I am eating rice cereal. It may come as a surprise to everyone but I am a really good eater.
I can roll at will now and I frequently do so. I am working hard at sitting up. I can't get all the way up but it's more like a sustained crunch. I'll have abs of steel in no time.
Mommy has been out working really hard bringing home the bacon, which means that daddy is working even harder at home taking care of me. Mommy gets to sleep at night and daddy gets up and gives me a bottle. I think daddy might be ready to go back to school soon. He looks so tired all the time. I guess I wake mommy up when I wake up daddy. That would explain why mommy seems so tired too.
